About the Studio
CK Art Company works closely with its residential and commerical clients to transform their environment. Located in Indianapolis, IN, the studio offers a range of services including finishes, murals, children's rooms, faux, trompe, stencilling, and hand-painted decoration.
Artist and owner, Carla Knopp, grew up in the Indianapolis area. Her interest in art began early and continued as she taught herself to draw and paint from (Walter T. Foster) books. Later, she received a bachelor's degree in fine art from Indiana University, where she majored in studio painting.
Carla Knopp's decorative painting career began in 1995 when she was hired to paint several exhibition murals for the Indiana State Museum. This led to employment with firms specializing in all areas of surface decoration, including some interesting historical restoration projects such as the following sites:
Victory Theatre, Evansville, IN Wisconsin State Capitol, Madison, WI Stokes Adobe Restaurant, Monterey, CA Culbertson Home Museum, New Albany, IN The Propylaeum, Indianapolis, IN Latter Day Saints Temple, Cochabamba, Bolivia U.S. District Courthouse, Indianapolis, IN
When Carla formed the CK Art Company in 2001, she chose to focus on painting children's murals and wall finishes. She has since added the full spectrum of surface treatment, window painting and three-dimensional signage projects.
The CK Art Company collaborates with an extensive network of qualified artisans. This reserve of skill and expertise allows CK Art to expand as needed for large or and/or specialty projects.
